COMMON QUESTIONS

Common Questions About Termite Inspection & Treatment

What should I do if I notice possible termite signs?

Record where you saw the concern and take a photo if it is safely accessible. Request an inspection so the team can evaluate the evidence and discuss the next step.

Do I have to choose a treatment before the inspection?

No. The findings, termite type, extent of activity and access help determine which options are appropriate.

What areas can an inspection cover?

Depending on the agreed scope and access, the inspector may evaluate visible areas around the structure, attic, crawl space, garage and exposed wood. Concealed or inaccessible spaces may require further evaluation.

How do I prepare for an inspection?

Ask the office for instructions. Have prior reports ready and arrange access to relevant rooms and entry points. Do not enter confined spaces or move heavy objects to prepare.

How much does an inspection or report cost?

Confirm pricing with the office before booking. Inspection scope, transaction reports and reinspections may have different fees.

Is local treatment appropriate for every property?

No. Local treatment focuses on identified areas. Its suitability depends on the findings, extent of activity and whether the affected areas can be treated.

Who performs the fumigation?

Vanguard coordinates fumigation through a subcontracted fumigation provider. Ask the office to explain the provider’s role, preparation requirements and schedule.

When can people and pets return after fumigation?

Return only after the fumigation provider has completed the required clearance process and specifically authorized reentry. Follow the provider’s written instructions.

Does termite treatment repair damaged wood?

No. Treatment and repair address different needs. Discuss the condition of the wood and whether a separate repair scope or further assessment is recommended.

What warranty applies to the work?

Ask for the written warranty and follow up terms for the specific service being proposed. Coverage, duration, exclusions and responsibilities should be reviewed before approval.

Can you help with an escrow inspection?

Share the property address, requested documentation, access contact and deadline. The office can confirm availability, fees and expected report timing.

Do you serve my address?

Visit the service area directory or call either branch with the property address and the service you need. The office will confirm current coverage.

Does the online form book my appointment?

No. It sends a request to the office. Availability and appointment details are confirmed separately.

What are your office hours?

Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Call before visiting a branch.
